Shot on an Olympus Mju Film Camera, Études Studio's Director Nicolas Poillot uses a number of destructive techniques to deliver a deconstructed AW16 brand campaign.
With the aid of a Xerox machine, Poillot's submissions pay homage to an analogue period. Devoid of any digital enhancement, the underground 60's inspired aesthetic is a stark contrast to the Mark Gonzales SS16 Capsule Collection.

Following the premiere of their “L.A. Stories” collection, Snoop Dogg and Mark Gonzales are back to unveil the second installment of their two-part adidas Skateboarding collaboration. This time around, the capsule comes in black, including a limited edition Matchcourt Mid, hoodie, long sleeve tee and T-shirt, all with gold accents. The artwork, by Gonz of course, symbolizes their shared nostalgic memories of growing up on the West Coast.
Accompanying this announcement is the third and final installment of the L.A. Stories video series starring the two best coast legends.

We finally get to chat to the Black Eyed Peas frontman and seven time Grammy winner as he heads to LAX, fresh off a brainstorm with the team at i.am+, his tech company. ‘Really it’s just like a domino building session where someone says let’s do this and we might say no that’s not a good idea but let’s go down that path and see how we can turn it into a great idea’ he explains.
The brand launched their first creation – an iPhone camera accessory in 2012, but more recently they’ve branched out into the dial - a smart watch, and some wireless Bluetooth headphones, named i.am EPs, that you can wear as a necklace. Airport bound, we spoke to Will - who studied at California’s Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and is certainly no slouch in the style department - about his world of wearable tech.
So will, can you tell us about life as the head of a technology empire?
‘I’m the CEO and founder of the i.am + company, but I have an amazing team and everything we do, we complete as a unit [even though] we’re spread out across four different countries. Our headquarters are here in Hollywood, our A.I team is in Israel, our O.S team is in India and our hardware team is in Singapore. And together we’re all thinking about creating things that look beautiful and have awesome functionality. And you can see how strong the team is by how far the tech can go. So our team is pretty strong, and we’re still out searching to make it stronger.’
will.i.am wears: Shirt by Études Studio x Mark Gonzales
And is that a reflection of the world we live in now?
‘Eleven years ago if I’d told you that you’re going to live your life on your phone and you’re going to carry it around and take pictures with it every thirty minutes you’d say there’s no way in hell I’m gonna live that way. We have gone so far away from anything normal - yet it’s become the norm, we’ve accepted it and that’s the way life is - to always be on. It’s kind of crazy I think.’
‘I’m living my life on devices and I want to live my life on something that looks amazing so that I can express myself while I’m doing it. And our i.am + EP headphones are a striking, technical piece of equipment that looks like jewellery.’
Did moving into technology seem like a giant leap from your music career?
‘It’s no different to being in a music group - every time I made a record I learned more about music, from trying our hardest to execute the idea. And that’s the same as what we’re doing with the hybrid of technology and fashion, with software developing. We’re always learning, and that’s an awesome job.’
Music, technology, fashion…is there any other area you’re planning on dipping a toe into?
‘I love being in this configuration in my life, where it’s cross-disciplinary and tech’s involved, creative’s involved, and I have creative people around me - coders, developers, electrical engineers, marketers, thinkers, designers - the whole shebang. I like being in this version of my world right now. I don’t think there’s anything else I could possibly dream of wanting myself to do – I already have two full-time jobs!’

You remember Mark? Tall, great physique, effortless style… you know the guy who ALWAYS looked ‘put together’ in a kinda lazy yet super cool way. Yeah, HIM. Well we’re reminiscing over that guy because I recently teamed up with the fantastic menswear boutique, &Blanc Fashion, which sent me kicking and screaming back into the obsessive state of wanting to be (all together now…) effortlessly stylish! My two objectives in life are a) religiously drinking lemon water (I literally keep count, did you know it has like a gazillion benefits) and b) being able to leave the house looking like Mark. Everyday I achieve at least one, never both, usually the former (okay, always the former).
In this part of the story, I quite bluntly asked &Blanc for the permission to run freely through their store scooping up as much as possible. The thing that excited me the most, was that I could see Mark shopping there! (Not literally of course, he’s hypothetical, incase you missed that). So I figured, if I couldn’t programme my DNA to cooperate, then I could at least throw clothes on the problem! For the whole day I spent at &Blanc styling outfits and trying on the amazing pieces, I felt like ‘that guy’ (at least by a half-ish measure anyway). I successfully managed objective b) and, for that, I will be eternally satisfied.
&Blanc are a relatively new boutique in Nottingham, one that I know I will keep returning to. Every time I’ve browsed their website I’m always drawn to them for the same reason, the guy who shops there is my ‘Mark’, the effortlessly stylish guy I aspire to be! So thank you, &Blanc, for giving me the illusion that I AM ‘that guy’ (just let me pretend, ok?).
&Blanc boutique are also the definition of convenience, something else I am drawn to like a moth to a flame. They ‘promote fresh and exciting independent brands, whilst providing a unique retail experience through their distinctive combination of fashion, hair styling and coffee (because who doesn’t love good coffee? No one, that’s who). They have Evoke Hair Design salon who they teamed up with to provide stylish hair ‘do’s’ and that great coffee. Both of which have been very satisfactorily provided, might I add. You have to admit, they have the most beautiful curation of wardrobe staples and basics, filling in all the blanks so you don’t even have to think about it.
As always, you can shop the items in this post by clicking the thumbnails below. You can find &Blanc’s website here, also their Instagram, Twitter and Facebook pages. Make sure, if nothing else, you check out the olive green jacket by Libertine Libertine, it will help you transition seamlessly and stylishly through Spring and Summer. You can get 15% off your entire order using code ‘WEBB’ at the checkout, you’re welcome. Also keep up to date with me on Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat (mitchwebb25), theres going to be an exciting giveaway very soon so stay tuned!

]]>Cuban collars are a MUST have trend for this summer. Designers everywhere are looking back to the 1950s and taking inspiration from retro, short-sleeved shirts.
When we first saw the 50s emerge as a trend, we automatically thought bleak clothing, due to it being an era of moodiness that was quite literally behind the exciting 60s.
However, it is clear that our first impression was very wrong. As temperatures rise and you're ready to ditch your long-sleeve shirts and jumpers. Mix is up with some lightweight short sleeve shirts, with the retro Cuban collar.
The fifties was a time of great bold colour and patterns, so it is no surprise that this summers’ on trend shirts are both bright and filled with crazy retro designs. Often clashing colour and style is a distinctive feature of the 50s, as you can create a real statement with your outfit.
However, we know that diving into these new trends can be daunting and we have just the solution for you. Why not try a simple 50s collar styled shirt with a pastel colour or even a neutral colour to start you off?
We have the perfect polo shirts to allow you to be a part of this trend in a classic, simplistic way giving you a modern twist.

With the bank holiday over, May is finally upon us. We are therefore looking at the top trends for Men’s SS16. The iconic bomber jacket was voted within the top 5 and is therefore a staple item for every man’s wardrobe. The bomber jacket’s heritage originates from the armed forces, similar to that of the trench and parka coat, both of which are timeless silhouettes that transcends years, styles and trends.
The timeless quality of the bomber jacket oozes personal style because of the versatile patterns, colours and material they can be found in. Traditionally, the bomber is a waist length jacket with knitted cuffs and a front zip closure. However, the bomber has been reinvented and given a new lease of life. The bomber’s continuous popularity is not surprising as many style icons continue to add their own quirky style and interests into an outfit topped with a unique bomber.
See below the image of the bomber on this year’s catwalk, used by many top designers. From left to right it is Alexander Wang, Simon Miller, Salvatore Ferragamo, Versace and Louis Vuitton. From this selection alone, you can clearly identify the extent to which the bomber has been uniquely reborn and personalised with a 2016 modern edge.
The typical baseball silhouette is still a favourite, along with the traditional round neck and also a classic triangular collar. There is certainly a pattern and style for everyone to get involved with this trend. Bomber jackets are versatile for casual days for a cool and comfortable style, but they can also create an air of stylish sophistication for an evening jacket.
Channel this trend with the variety of new colours and materials available to keep things more contemporary. This is a MUST have item for every man’s wardrobe to be on trend this summer.
At andblanc we have our own selection of bomber jackets from both Wood Wood and Libertine-Libertine. There is plenty of choice so be sure to check us out at: www.andblancfashion.com

Here are some inspiring ways to style your bomber jacket!
To some, sweatpants and sweatshirts require careful thought. Styled in the wrong way with the wrong cut or context it can become a dangerous outfit. The material can sometimes suggest an air of ‘I’ve given up’ or ‘I’m having a lazy day’ – something a stylish man never wants to communicate through his clothing. However, panic no further. Libertine-Libertine’s SS16 in-season collection features a range of stylish sweatshirts, sweatpants and tops that have redefined the comfy clothing silhouette. If you want to indulge in ultimate comfort, whilst channeling your inner fashion guru, we have the perfect summer outfit for you. Choosing the right style of sweats is the most important choice. You can’t pick up any old elasticated sweats and think they are going to produce a funky style. Your best bet to keep up-to-date with this summer trend is to invest in high quality Libertine-Libertine apparel, a brand known for their quirky and unique style.
The collection features three major items, the sweatpants in a short silhouette, a sweatshirt and a sweatshirt with short sleeves. The interesting and revolutionary short length creates an air of summer ease and the lightweight, soft material makes it the ideal summer outfit for this unpredictable weather – showing skin, but not too much. Sweatpants are no longer just something of ease and comfort, as Libertine-Libertine has successfully created a collection that oozes style and sophistication. These items launch on our website TODAY, be sure to get your hands on them before everyone else.
